Flat feet, what are they?
Having flat feet means the absence of the arch of the foot, it can be inborn or occur following an illness or accident. Flat feet can lead to walking discomfort and pain. The arch of the foot helps to extend the foot when walking, and to distribute weight evenly over the legs and feet. The absence of an arch alters your gait, and can lead to heel, ankle, knee and back pain. Flat feet can affect both children and adults throughout their lives. The flattening of the arch of the foot may develop over time. Certain illnesses, such as arthritis, diabetes or muscular disease, can lead to arch flattening, but deformity or injury, obesity, pregnancy and aging can also be factors.
Why wear orthotics for flat feet?
If you have flat feet, wearing orthopedic insoles is recommended. Orthotics help form an arch, which in your case is almost or totally non-existent, by supporting the foot. Wearing orthopedic insoles helps to correct this pathology and prevent it from worsening. Particularly if you have a small arch, orthopedic inserts will prevent your foot from becoming totally flat over time, and thus prevent other problems from arising. By wearing these insoles in comfortable shoes, you’ll regain a normal gait with your body weight evenly distributed. With flat feet you can also experience pain when walking or standing for long periods, with orthopedic insoles, forget all your discomfort and pain.
Our orthopedic insoles for flat feet
Our orthopedic insoles for flat feet all feature arch support, a raised arch that corrects arch sagging and thus rebalances foot posture. You’ll find insoles to suit everyone, for children, women and men, all available in different sizes. Different materials too: our orthopedic insoles for flat feet are designed by assembling several layers of different materials. The layers include an anti-slip bottom layer, generally made of EVA plastic, to prevent the insole from slipping in your shoes, followed by a heel-raising layer equipped with a silicone pad or shock-absorbing foam, and in some cases a layer of EVA plastic before the top layer, the one in contact with your foot. EVA plastics are supple and non-toxic, and also provide better shock absorption. For the top layer materials, we have different kinds of insoles, all with skin-friendly, non-slip and breathable materials, some insoles are with leather like ourleather orthopedic insoles for flat feet, some with a heated coating for winter like ourwarm orthopedic insoles. We offersilicone orthopedic insolesthat slip around the foot to support your arch with silicone pads, a very comfortable product that’s a good alternative to the insole you slip into your shoe.
